LA Fitness was established by 3 private owners Chin Yol Ti, Lisa Maria Novins and Louis Welch in 1984 in Irvine ( Los Angeles), California. Therefore the name LA came from Los Angeles. Now, they have over 600 fitness clubs all over United States and Canada. LA Fitness is also active in youtube: https://www.youtube.com/lafitness, where they have videos on member stories, fitness tips, quick tips etc. They also have a blog : http://blog.lafitness.com/ . In the blog, the segment that stands out is the '' Ask our dietitian'' segment. You can address and ask any question to the dietitian and you will get your solution. They also have a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LAFitness , motivating people through their words and also giving away tips and ideas.

DeleteAfter bankrupting their company Airport Nautilus, Chin Yol Yi and Louis Welch formed a new Corporation and negotiated a buyout, closure, and reopening of a Racquetball Club in West Covina California. The original "third partners" were, Paul Norris business agent, Tom Kontos attorney, and Keith Hindeman investor. Paul Norris was responsible for the name LA Fitness, he later left the company as a partner but continued involvement as a business agent.
